The Eras Tour

The Eras Tour

Few musicians branch out across so many genre walls and keep every audience. Taylor Swift moved from country to pop to folk without losing her devoted fans — a cultural phenomenon who left a legacy no one had predicted.

Villeneuve's sequel charts Paul's rise from exiled heir to messianic leader, yet refuses to celebrate it: the Fremen's fervour looks closer to fanaticism than liberation, and that ambivalence gives the spectacle its chill.

Why Breaking Bad still hooks us

Breaking Bad turned a quiet chemistry teacher into a television phenomenon. Few series cross so many genre lines: it made a villain out of a family man, and fans still argue over the legacy it left.

Too dense?
Read it at your level.

Hit the orange dot and a heavy paragraph rewrites to exactly your level — weaving the words you’ve saved back in, so they resurface as you read.

What to read?

Lantern suggests new articles every day.

Your own feed — real articles from outlets you can trust, pick topics you actually like.

Never runs out — over 45 outlets refresh themselves, new articles on your topics every day.

Straight from the source — BBC, The Guardian, Polygon as they write it, not someone's retelling.

Why it works

Your brain already does this.

One condition: the word has to turn up again. That's the job Lantern does on purpose — a word you save comes back in your next articles, instead of waiting for chance to bring it.

86%

of the words already learned are still in memory 3 months after 15 weeks of reading.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything you'd ask before adding it.

What is Lantern and how does it work?

Install it, pick your language, keep browsing. Lantern glosses the words you don't know, simplifies dense passages on request, answers questions about what you're reading, and quietly flags words that look familiar but mean something else. Tap the lightning bolt on any page and it turns the text into grammar-aware quizzes — prepositions, phrasal verbs, word families.

Does it work on any site I already read?

Yes — news, blogs, docs, whatever you'd normally read in English. No separate app to open. Don't have a page in mind? Discover has a curated feed to start from — but you're never limited to it.

How is this different from a translator?

A translator shows you what you highlight. The trouble is the words you never highlight, because you're sure you already know them — actually, hardly, historic. Lantern highlights those itself, right in the sentence. It also rewrites a dense paragraph at your level, and brings the words you save back into later articles — a translate popup does neither.

What level can I start from?

Any level — absolute beginners get more glossing, advanced readers get less. You always read in English; translations show in your own language. There's also Immersion Mode — words you've already learned keep showing up even on pages written in your language, so they don't fade between sessions.

How much time do I need per day?

None set aside — it runs on reading you're already doing. A word you meet in a sentence you cared about sticks better than one drilled on a flashcard.

What does it cost?

Free, no account needed.

What browsers and devices does it support?

Chrome, on Mac or PC.

What do you see or store from my pages?

Lantern reads the text on the page you're using it on — the paragraph you simplify, the passage you ask about, the words you look up — and sends that to our servers to process it. It never reads or sends anything from pages you're not actively using it on. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
